Intel Announces Discontinuation of 10th Gen Comet Lake-H Mobile Processors

Intel has announced the discontinuation of its 10th Gen Comet Lake-H mobile processors. Based on the chipmaker’s overused 14nm process node and the Skylake core architecture, these chips served the high-performance gaming market while the low-power Ice Lake-U lineup was limited to ultrabooks and 14 inchers. This marks the first stage in the transition to the 10nm (Intel 7) node as 14nm production is wrapped up to free up capacity for advanced processes.

The 10th Gen Comet Lake-H processors will be available to order till 2022. Intel’s partners will be able to order the final shipments of the Core i5-10200H, i5-10300H, i5-10500H, i7-10750H, i7-10870H, and i9-10980HK processors by April 1, 2022. The last chips will be shipped on August 30, 2022. The Core i5-10400H, i7-10850H, i7-10875H, i9-10885H, Xeon W-10855M, and Xeon W-10885M processors can only be ordered through July 1, 2022, and with a shipment date through January 27, 2023.

The discontinuation program for the low-power 10th Gen Comet Lake-U, Ice Lake-U, and Lakefield processors has already been initiated.
