In an official press release, Gigabyte has announced the release of the BIOS updates supporting the Ryzen 5000 CPUs on the 500 series motherboards. However, as per a source on Twitter, the latest F60b BIOS also adds support for the Zen 3 chips on all B450 boards.
This isn’t preliminary support we’re talking about here, rather full-fledged compatibility. We haven’t been able to confirm this for obvious reasons, but will update this post as soon as we have a confirmation.

AMD officially intends to release the beta BIOSes for the 400 series chipsets supporting the Vermeer family in January. It’s possible that this is simply a test BIOS from Gigabyte and not the final version. Regardless, unlike the BIOS update promised by AMD to consumers, this one doesn’t come with a one-way flash path. Meaning, you can flash back to an older BIOS after testing it out. (Ambien)
