Some OEMs have started packing AMD’s Ryzen 3000 desktop processors in mobile form factors or “laptops”. Clevo’s XMG is one such example. The Origin PC EON15-X is another. Today, we’ll be looking at a less known brand Eurocom, and it’s Nightsky laptops that feature up to an AMD Ryzen 9 3950X and the GeForce RTX 2070, both desktop chips. (Dayvigo)

The laptop comes with a B450 motherboard and can be upgraded to a newer Ryzen CPU in the future. It has a 15″ 1080p display with a refresh rate of 144Hz and brightness of 300nits. It covers 72% of the NTSC color gamut or 90% in sRGB terms. The Eurocom Nightsky ARX15 comes with up to two NVMe based drive and a third HDD, SSD or SSHD as the primary drive.

Memory configuration ranges from 16GB to 64GB (single and dual channel), with a frequency ranging from 2666MHz to 3000MHz. For I/O, you get two USB 3.2 Gen 2 and one USB-C 3.2 port. There is also an HDMI 2.0 and miniDP 1.4 port for external displays and a headphone jack as well.

The keyboard is backlit and comes with 15 color options. The Eurocom Nightsky ARX15 has an impressive 62Whr (6-cell) battery that lasts up to 420 minutes in UMA mode. With all these specs, the laptop weighs just 2.6 kg with a thickness of 1.3″. The starting price for the Nightsky ARX15 is $1,900. The base model comes with a Ryzen 7 3700X, GeForce RTX 2060 6GB, 16GB dual-channel memory, and 1TB of SSHD storage. The upgraded variant with a 16-core Ryzen 9 3950X and an RTX 2070 costs between $2,000 to $3,000, depending on the storage and memory options.
