Cyberpunk PC Req Indicate Vastly Superior Performance on NVIDIA GPUs: No RT on AMD Big Navi Parts

CD Projekt Red has announced a detailed review of the system requirements for the PC version of the game. However, if you are an AMD fan, you’ll likely find this worrying.

The game appears to favor NVIDIA hardware by a pretty notable amount. For example, the recommended graphics card for 1440p is an RTX 2060 on NVIDIA’s side and a Radeon RX 5700 XT on AMD’s end. The latter usually trades blows with the RTX 2070 Super and is much faster than the RTX 2060 as you can see in our review.

The 4K requirements, on the other hand, demand an NVIDIA RTX 2080 Super or an RTX 3070. For AMD, you’re looking at the Radeon RX 6800 XT which is much faster than both the RTX 2080 Super as well as the RTX 3070.

That’s not all. Ray-tracing will be only supported on NVIDIA graphics cards, at least at the time of launch. It’s unclear whether this is due to a lack of DLSS support on AMD hardware or simply the result of NVIDIA’s partnership with CDPR, but it’s not the first time something like this has happened:
