Cyberpunk 2077 is looking to be the most intensive game ever released on PC, with NVIDIA’s official benchmarks showing the RTX 3090 failing to hit an average of 60 FPS at 4K Ultra, with ray-tracing and DLSS turned on.

Without DLSS, the RTX 3090 manages a paltry 22 FPS while the RTX 3080 averages just 15 FPS. Even with DLSS enabled, the RTX 3080 which is the recommended card for this quality preset barely manages 52 FPS. The last-gen Turing flagship, the RTX 2080 Ti doesn’t even hit 40 FPS.

At 1440p, things get a bit more practical with the RTX 3080 and 3090 both crossing the 60 FPS mark at ultra settings with RT/DLSS enabled. The RTX 3070 and 2080 Ti average just 50 FPS at 1440p ultra with ray-tracing and DLSS enabled while the RTX 3060 Ti just falls short of 45 FPS which is generally considered playable.

1080p sees all the cards hit 60 FPS, with the RTX 3090 and 3080 managing to hit the figure even without DLSS. The RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 3070 average 70 FPS while the RTX 3060 Ti also ends up with an average of 64 FPS.

After looking at these benchmarks, it looks like the recommended requirements from both NVIDIA and CD Projekt Red were more or less irrelevant and the game will require much more powerful hardware to reach an average of 60 FPS at the higher quality settings.
