Corsair’s new All-AMD Vengeance Desktops paint the town Red: All AMD

Corsair’s got news for you: The future…or well, at least the future of the OEM’s gaming lineup, is very red. Corsair recently announced that it was bringing back its Vengeance line of gaming desktops. Two new Vengeance desktops will be available, the Vengeance 6180 and Vengeance 6182. What’s interesting is that both configurations are all-AMD. Both feature a Ryzen 7 3700X and the Radeon RX 5700 XT.

What sets the two apart, then? The 6180 features a lower-end motherboard based on the midrange B450 chipset. It also has just 480 GB of SSD storage, courtesy the Corsair Force MP510. On the other hand, the 6182 utilizes an X570-based motherboard and comes with 1TB of SSD storage. In real-world terms, you will not notice any difference between the two: the 6182 may or may not be able to hit over CPU overclocks but that’s about it.

How much will these parts cost? The 6180 is selling today at $1999. We’ll update you when we hear back on pricing for the 6182.

Our take? Well, we’re generally not of the opinion that you should buy prebuilts at all. At the $1999 price-point, you could conceivably build a PC with the NVIDIA Turing flagship, the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti in it. But if you are going the prebuilt route, these models offer plenty of performance. We’d suggest going with the cheaper 6180. The Ryzen 7 3700X is already a very good CPU for gaming: you’re not going to see eye-opening performance boosts from overclocking. And you can, of course, throw in a larger SSD any time you want.
