Aya Neo Handheld Gaming PC w/ Ryzen 5 4500U and 16GB LPDDR4X Memory Coming Soon

It’s not every day that you see handheld gaming PCs, at least not good ones. Meet the Aya Neo, a 7″ handheld console powered by AMD’s Ryzen 5 4500U (Renoir) and 16GB of LPDDR4X memory. It is slated to launch in China on the 21st of Feb next year for a rather sizable 4,999 Yuan for the 512GB and 5,499 Yuan for the 1TB variant. That’s roughly between $700-$800 (US), notably higher than both the Xbox Series X as well as the PS5. Granted, the prices in China for game consoles and computer hardware tend to be on the higher side, but this is still pretty pricey.

The specifications include a Ryzen 5 4500U (Renoir) APU at the heart of the device, running at a boost clock of 4GHz, with the integrated Vega 6 GPU handling the graphics side of things. The Aya Neo has a 7″ IPS display with a resolution of 800p (1280x 800) and a pixel density of 215 PPI.

For connectivity, you get WiFi 6 with rated speeds of up to 2,402 MB/s. The I/O consists of a USB Type-C, Type-A, HDMI, DP, and an RJ45 port. The memory features 16GB of LPDDR4x-4266MT/s RAM, while storage comes in two options: 512GB for 4999 Yuan and a 1TB variant for 5,499 Yuan. Both are NVMe based solutions utilizing the NVMe 1.3 format.

The Aya Neo weighs 0.65 kg, with a width of 20mm and a length and breadth of 255mm and 106mm, respectively. It is powered by a beefy battery featuring 3x 4,100mAh cells or 47Wh @ 1.55v.

The device is capable of running Red Dead Redemption 2 and Death Stranding at a mix of medium to high settings with a resulting frame rate of 40 FPS on average.

At the moment, global shipping isn’t available, but the vendor plans to do it via a crowdfunding sale on IndiGogo sometime later next year.
