ASUS Unveils Mini-ITX X670E Boards for AMD Ryzen 7000 CPUs: Crosshair Gene and Strix X670E-I Gaming WiFi

ASUS has introduced some of the more niche offerings of its X670E motherboard family, including mini and micro-ITX boards, plus the more affordable “PRIME” SKUs. These include the ROG X670E Crosshair Gene, ROG Strix X670E-I Gaming WiFi, ProArt X670E-Creator WiFi, Prime X670E-Pro WiFi, Prime X670-P WiFi, and Prime X670-P. All seven come with full-fledged support for PCIe Gen 5 (GPU + NVMe SSD) and high-speed DDR5 memory.

ROG X670E Crosshair Gene

The ROG X670E Crosshair Gene is a micro-ATX board with a single PCIe Gen 5 x16 slot for high-end graphics, two DDR5 slots, and two PCIe Gen 5 + one Gen 4 slot for SSDs. In terms of power supply, you get a 16+2 phase power stage rated at 110A.

I/O options are plentiful with two USB 4, one USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C, 6GHz WiFi, and an Intel 2.5Gb ethernet port.

ROG Strix X670E-I Gaming WiFi

The ROG Strix X670E-I is the smallest ROG board with a mini-ITX form factor. In addition to a PCIe Gen 5 x16 slot for a discrete GPU, this tiny motherboard features two M.2 SSD slots (Gen 4 + Gen 5), and two DDR5 memory DIMMs.

An ALC4050 codec is packed for high-end audio alongside an ESS Sabre 9260Q DAC, in addition to a headset and mic jack with 3.5 mm optical S/PDIF. For I/O, you get access to a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type port, an EZ Mode PBO button, BIOS flash, and a Q-LED array for troubleshooting.

ProArt X670E-Creator WiFi

The ASUS ProArt X670E-Creator WiFi gives users access to two PCIe Gen 5 x16 slots for multiple high-end graphics cards and four M.2 slots (two PCIe Gen 5 + two Gen 4) for SSDs. The front panel features a USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C port with support for 60W high-speed charging.

The ProArt also comes with a WiFi 6E-compatible chipset supporting 6GHz bands alongside an Intel 2.5G Ethernet port and a Marvell AQtion 10G Ethernet port.

ASUS Prime Lineup

The PRIME lineup forms the practical, no-nonsense stack with minimal RGB and lighting but maximum functionality. The Prime X670E-Pro WiFi packs a single PCIe Gen 5 slot for high-end graphics and an M.2 for super-fast SSD storage. The X670-P WiFi and the X670-P are the other two members of the Prime lineup. Both feature three M.2 SSD slots, Thunderbolt 4, WiFi 6E, and a Realtek 2.5Gb Ethernet port.
