AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800X3D V-Cache Powerhouse Comes to Laptops with the XMG Apex 15 Max

Following a BIOS update, German notebook vendor XMG has enabled support for the Ryzen 7 5800X3D on its Apex 15 Max (E22) laptop. Packing a total of 100MB cache, the Zen 3 V-Cache processor is easily the fastest from the previous generation, giving even next-gen AMD/Intel CPUs a run for their money. The XMG Apex 15 Max features an AMD AM4 socket with an option to pair it with either the GeForce RTX 3060 or the RTX 3070.

It has a 15-inch 1080p 240Hz display ideal for high-frame-rate eSports and shooters. XMG claims a very plausible 30% performance boost when upgrading from the Ryzen 7 5700X to the 5800X3D in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Regarding I/O and connectivity, we’re looking at an HDMI 2.1 port, DisplayPort 1.4, and USB Type-C ports. In Europe, the Apex 15 Max is priced at 1,399 Euros. BIOS version 1.07.09A01 is the one that enables support for the 5800X3D in case you have the hardware.
