AMD’s Ryzen 5000 Launch was the Biggest CPU Launch in History with Record-Breaking Sales

We all know that AMD’s Ryzen 5000 launch has been one of its most successful CPU launches, with stocks running out in hours if not minutes. However, many people have misunderstood this for a supply shortage of the 7nm chips. Multiple retailers across the world have claimed that this was their biggest CPU launch EVER, with record sales (within minutes).

As per the UK retailer, Scan:

Demand was extremely high and the launch stock we had sold through extremely quickly making it the fastest-selling CPU launch we have ever seen. This was echoed across all of the launch retailers. Unfortunately, due to this extreme demand, there were a lot of customers in the basket phase when stock ran out resulting in us having to move to pre-orders. We are assured by AMD that stock coming through for the new CPUs will be significant so the wait time for current pre-orders should not be long.

AMD has also assured us that they are regularly shipping tons of chips every day and the supply-demand equation should soon be balanced again.

Germany’s largest retailer for computer hardware, Mindfactory had something similar to say. This was apparently their best CPU launch EVER, EVER, EVER.

This should give you an idea of just how many people were able to buy a Ryzen 5000 chip at launch and how many more are still waiting in line to get their share.
