AMD will Continue Making Reference Big Navi Graphics Cards Till Q2 2021

AMD has confirmed that it will continue making the reference versions of the Radeon RX 6800 series till early 2021. This info comes in the form of a reply from Scott Herkelman in reply to a Twitter user after multiple reports started claiming that AMD had already stopped the production of the reference models.

Generally, AMD manufactures a limited number of reference cards and then leaving the AIB partners to take it from there. This was mainly due to the lackluster cooling of these parts. However, with the RX 6000 series that has changed. The GPUs actually run pretty quiet and relatively cooler, all the while offering ample overclocking headroom.

Although board partners will still have a superior design and offer higher operating clocks, AMD’s reference cards should be comparable to them this time around.
