AMD Teases Radeon RX 6000 “Big Navi” in Fortnite Map

As NVIDIA announced ray-tracing support for Fornite, AMD went ahead and teased the launch of its Navi 2x graphics cards, most notably the much-anticipated Big Navi via its custom map.

One of AMD’s sponsored Fortnite streamers discovered the Easter Egg in a new map exclusively designed by Team Red. To get it, you need to do perform certain tasks and finally enter the “6000” code. (tourismiceland.is) After doing this, you get the following quote:

“SOMETHING BIG IS COMING TO THE AMD BATTLE ARENA!”

This is a direct reference to the much anticipated Big Navi GPU which is supposed to go up against the GeForce RTX 3080. Furthermore, the code 6000 means that the lineup will be called the RX 6000 series.

As per multiple sources, the Navi 2x GPUs will be announced in early September, with a hard launch sometime in October. AMD has already confirmed that its new GPUs will launch before the consoles that this is the most likely window. The Navi 2x GPUs will support hardware-level ray-tracing using the DXR API. The RDNA 2 architecture should be very similar to that of the Xbox Series X. We covered that earlier. You can read it here:
