AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX Mobile CPU Spotted: Paired w/ GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Mobile

AMD’s next-gen Ryzen 6000 mobile CPU has been spotted along with the next-generation of the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 gaming notebook. The mobile APU will be paired with (up to) a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti mobile GPU, much like Intel’s 12th Gen Alder Lake-P processors. Codenamed Rembrandt, the Ryzen 5000H lineup will leverage the Zen 3+ CPU core architecture (same as Cezanne), and upgrade the GPU to a 12CU RDNA 2 part at the top-end.

In addition to this, the Rembrandt lineup will be fabbed on TSMC’s 6nm node, as opposed to the 7nm used by Vermeer, Cezanne, and Renoir. The Ryzen 9 6900HX spotted in Scar 15 G533Z packs eight cores and sixteen threads, and shouldn’t be much of an upgrade compared to Cezanne on the CPU side. The graphics side, on the other hand, features twice as many shaders, a new architecture, and higher clock speeds. You can expect twice the throughput compared to the Vega parts powering Renoir and Cezanne.

The same GPU will be leveraged used by the Steam Deck handheld gaming console. Therefore, you can expect solid gaming performance (relatively) from AMD’s next-gen mobile processors.
