At AMD’s Renoir mobile launch, there was mention of a 45W Ryzen 9 4900H/HS, but the company kept quiet about a 15W Ryzen 9 part. We’ve already seen a Lenovo device that supposedly featured a 4900U, but at the time it was dismissed as a human error. However, now our favorite Twitter sources have shared the 3DMark and Userbench listing of the Ryzen 9 4900U, all but confirming the new 15W Renoir flagship.

Seeing that 3DMark is barely able to recognize the chip, and the boost clock is still not finalized, it’ll be a while before the chip hits the market.

Like the Ryzen 7 4700U and 4800U, the Ryzen 9 will also be an octa-core APU with integrated Vega graphics. The core difference is going to be with respect to the clocks. This should improve performance in gaming and other single-threaded workloads. We’ll keep you posted.
