AMD will be launching its Ryzen 7000X3D processors much earlier than expected. While the Ryzen 7 5800X3D was launched a year after the mainstream Zen 3 family, the Zen 4 3D parts are likely to hit the CPU market as early as mid-2023. Keep in mind that Greymon55 has also reported the existence of multiple Zen 4 3D V-Cache SKUs. We’re bound to get a Ryzen 5 7600X3D and the Ryzen 9 7900X3D, in addition to the Ryzen 7 7800X3D.
The cache size will of course vary from SKU to SKU but it should max out at 96MB, if not 128MB. The Ryzen 7 7600X3D ought to get 64MB of overall L3 cache, with the 7800X3D and the 7900X3D scaling it by 32MB, each. AMD may release these chips with fully unlocked multipliers as well considering that BCLK overclocking has been widespread but thermal issues may persist as 5nm dies will be much harder to cool.
Moving to the Blue side, @OneRaichu claims that there may be a 13th Gen Intel Raptor Lake-S part that actually manages to hit the 6GHz mark under certain conditions. He’s possibly talking about the Core i9-13900KS which should launch sometime next year, around the same time as the Ryzen 7000X3D CPUs. This will be the Thermal Velocity Boost (TVB) which is only achievable when the CPU is operating under 70C. The TVB is usually 100-200MHz higher than the otherwise rated max boost (TB3) clock.
