The Cinebench R23 benchmark of the Ryzen 7 7745HX has surfaced, giving us a glimpse into the performance capabilities of the Dragon Range family. The numbers come from Bilibili (via: HXL) shortly after the Ryzen 7 7840HS leak. The R7 7745HX manages to beat the top-end Rembrandt chip but not by a large margin. I suspect this is a lower-end design with a make-do thermal solution, limiting performance.
The Ryzen 7 7745HX is about 15% faster than the Ryzen 9 6900HX in the single-core benchmark, with a slightly larger lead of 20% in the multi-core segment. Remember that both are octa-core parts, the former based on Zen 4 and the latter on Zen 3. Going by the base clocks, their peak frequencies likely aren’t too far apart either.
Compared to the Ryzen 7 7845HS, a 35W monolithic chip (Phoenix), we’re looking at a lead of 10% in both the single and multi-threaded departments. I’m curious to see how the dual-chiplet Dragon Range parts perform. From what we’ve seen in previous leaks, they’ll give Intel’s Raptor Lake offerings a run for their money.
