AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800X3D is one of the fastest gaming CPUs on the market. Even when you factor in the newly launched Ryzen 7000 and the 13th Gen Core processors. The best part is owning a system powered by the 3D V-Cache chip is relatively cheap. A $100-150 board with DDR4-3200 memory is all you need (in addition to a good AIO cooler and power supply). The octa-core part with 100MB of cache (64MB 3D) is going for just $329 on Newegg, a steep cut of $120 off its $449 MSRP.
The sole Zen 3D chip on Amazon is going for $349, while Newegg has yet to jump into the wagon.
Interestingly, the next-gen Ryzen 7 7700X has gotten the same treatment (for the first time). The octa-core Zen 4 CPU is priced at $382 on Amazon, a healthy cut of $67 off its launch MSRP.
The rest of the Ryzen 5000 offerings are also going at nifty prices. The 5900X (12 cores) is going for just $349, while the 5800X has dropped to $249. If you’re on the AM4 platform, now would be the time to upgrade:
