A Geekbench 5 benchmark of the Ryzen 5 7600X has surfaced over at the Primate Labs database. The hex-core Zen 4 processor scores a haughty 11,205 points in the multi-core and 2,102 points in the single-core benchmarks. This may not sound all that much but it does manage to beat its predecessor, the Ryzen 5 5600X by a fat margin.
In the single-core benchmark, we’re talking about a gain of 30% while the multi-core performance gets boosted by a mighty >50%. This is a remarkable result considering that the core counts are unchanged and much of the gains come from the platform, memory, and architectural upgrades.
With that said, it is still a bit slower than the Intel i5-12600K (6P+4E) which scores around 11,6xx points in the multi-threaded test, and around 11,xxx points in the single-threaded benchmark. It looks like Intel will not only retain but also consolidate its lead in multi-core metrics while just falling short in lightly threaded applications.
