AMD Ryzen 4000 “Renoir” Desktop APU Reportedly Spotted

Reputed hardware leaker, _rogame has shared an unknown AMD APU, codenamed “AMD Arctic” which is speculated to be the desktop counterpart of the Ryzen 4000 mobile processors. According to the source, the chip in question is faster has a TDP of 35W, and is faster than the 15W Ryzen 5 4600U and Ryzen 7 4700U. The integrated graphics are on par with a 6CU 7nm Vega processor, meaning that it’s either an unannounced 35W Renoir part or an upcoming desktop APU.

The CPU has a base clock of 3GHz and an iGPU clock of 1200MHz. It is paired with DDR4 memory clocked at 3200MHz, which once again indicates that it could be a 35W mobile part or a desktop variant. The most likely case is that this processor is the yet unannounced Ryzen 3 4200GE/4100GE, the successor to the 3200GE (as the source indicates).

Since the CPU is faster than the 4700U, I’m guessing that it’s a quad-core or hex-core chip paired with 7nm Vega 6 graphics. Despite featuring fewer graphics cores than its predecessor, the GPU would still be on par or faster than the Vega 8 on the 3200GE on account of being a 7nm part. (www.pinnaclemontessori.com)

The Ryzen 3 3200GE is the 35W variant of the 3200G. Both are based on the 12nm Zen+ core and feature Radeon Vega graphics. They are aimed at budget gaming or business systems that require onboard graphics with a slim power envelope.
