AMD Ryzen 4000 Desktop APUs Reportedly Coming to Retail in Late August

AMD launched its Ryzen 4000 APUs (Renoir) on the AM4 desktop platform yesterday, featuring up to eight cores and sixteen threads. There are six standard variants with three 65W models and three 35W GE chips. There are another six processors with the PRO designation, meant for professional workstations. This is AMD’s first APU lineup in recent times to launch exclusively via the OEM channel, and it seems like the company was aware of this:

AMD has indicated that we’ll be seeing a next-generation of Ryzen APUs on the DIY platform in the future. Meanwhile, Semiaccurate claims that the same Renoir desktop lineup will move to retail later this year in August itself. Although we can’t confirm this as of now, it’s clear that enthusiasts will be getting something worth waiting for in the near future.
