AMD Rembrandt iGPU to Get 2x L2 Cache, No L3 “Infinity Cache”; DDR5/LPDDR5 and PCIe 4 Support Expected

As per the latest Linux patch, AMD’s Rembrandt processors will be getting DDR5 (and LPDDR5) support along with PCIe 4.0 for the first time on the mobile platform. Despite both the Ryzen 3000 and 5000 lineups featuring PCIe 4.0 support, both Renoir and Cezanne lack the same and are limited to 8 PCIe 3.0 lanes. Rembrandt will leverage the Zen 3+ core on TSMC’s 6nm node (enhanced 7nm with EUV), along with USB 4 support as well as the upgraded Navi 2x graphics.

Rembrandt will also be the first mobile platform to move to the FP7 package from FP5 and FP5. On the GPU side, the RDNA integrated graphics will feature up to 12 Compute Units (768 shaders), compared to 8 on the Renoir and Cezanne flagship. Unsurprisingly, unlike the desktop Navi 2X parts, there won’t be any L3 (Infinity Cache), but the L2 cache will grow to twice the size, from 1MB on Renoir/Cezanne to 2MB on Rembrandt.

Rembrandt (in both 45W and 15W variants) is expected to land in early 2022, most likely at AMD’s CES Keynote alongside Barcelo and Dragon Crest.
