AMD may have made the integrated GPU on its upcoming Ryzen 7000 processors slightly slower at the last moment. Just days ahead of the official launch, the official specifications of the RDNA 3 iGPU on the Phoenix mobile APUs have been revised. Originally said to have a boost clock of 3GHz, the Radeon 780M will now top out at 2.8GHz.
All three Ryzen 7000HS series APUs have had their iGPU downgraded by 200MHz, sort of reminding us of the 3GHz target miss of the Radeon RX 7900 series. The 45W H-series SKUs will power midrange gaming and content creation notebooks featuring discrete graphics. As such, no one will feel this frequency reduction in day-to-day workloads.
The Ryzen 7000 mobile processors will hit markets next month with a CPU core count of up to 8 and 12 iGPU cores. The Dragon Range “HX” lineup featuring dual-chiplets and 16 cores will launch around the same time.
