AMD Radeon RX 7800M XT Benchmark Leaks Out: As Fast as the NVIDIA RTX 4070

A 3DMark TimeSpy benchmark of the Radeon RX 7800M XT has surfaced. Based on the Navi 32 GPU, this SKU features 3,840 stream processors (shaders) across 60 Compute Units (CUs) paired with up to 16GB GDDR6 memory. The GPU also packs 240 TMUs (Texture Mapping Units) and 128 ROPs (Raster Outputs). Unlike the desktop model (yet to be launched), the mobile variant will likely feature a cut-down memory bus and lower clocks.

So, we’re probably looking at a 192-bit bus spread across three MCDs (Memory Complex Dies) with up to 64MB of L3 or Infinity Cache. The Radeon RX 7800 XT will likely have a large GCD (Graphics Compute Die) and four MCDs.

Coming to the performance numbers, the Radeon RX 7800M XT nets a score of 17,842 in the 3DMark TimeSpy graphics test. This places it on par with NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4070 and RTX 3080 desktop graphics cards or a GeForce RTX 4080 mobile. Not bad, considering that the Radeon RX 7900 XT competes with the RTX 4070 Ti desktop GPU.
