AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT has a Total Overclocking Potential of 3GHz

AMD’s Radeon RX 6800 series have massive overclocking potential, reaching clocks of 2.6GHz in our own tests, and nearly 2.8GHz for some AIB partner cards. Looking at the MorePowerTool from Igor’s community, it can be seen that the 2.8GHz is the hard limit for the RX 6800 XT, explaining the results obtained by most reviewers.

However, the RX 6900 XT (as per the same tool) has an even higher overclocking cap of 3GHz. This means that a few lucky overclockers might be able to push the RX 6900 XT close to 2.9GHz under air and a rather insane 3.0GHz using water cooling or LN2. That’s a boost clock increase of around 40% over the stock frequency!

It’ll be interesting to see what kinds of performance gains will you get with these overclocks. The RX 6800 series saw uplifts of 5-12% which is quite mild, but when using the MorePowerTool, you can further consolidate on those gains. I reckon it’ll be the same with the RX 6900 XT.
