AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT to Reportedly Cost $500: Stocks Expected to be Slightly Better

According to YouTuber, MLID, AMD’s budget-grade Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card won’t really be much of a budget offering. Sources close to the creator have informed him that the 6700 XT will be priced close to the $500 mark. On the bright side, the supply is expected to be better than the higher-end Navi 21 (6800 XT, 6900 XT) lineup. (Ambien Generic)

As already reported earlier, the 6700 XT will launch in two variants: A reference model and a higher-binned variant. The former will be priced just over $470 while the latter will be sell close to $550 as part of factory overclocked and over-engineered models. In line with that, the boost clocks (read: Game Clocks) and TDP of the latter will also be a notch above the former as they’ll mainly feature cherry-picked silicon.

In terms of performance, you’re looking at RTX 3060 Ti-grade performance with the reference (cheaper) variant and near-RTX 3070 levels of performance with the binned versions. Considering that the RTX 3060 Ti isn’t going to be available for the time being, this means that the 6700 XT will primarily compete with the RTX 3070 and AMD won’t have to worry about adjusting the pricing given the present hardware rut.

As far as the supply is concerned, I’m still skeptical as most of AMD’s TSMC capacity is presently reserved for the console SoC while the rest is mainly used for the production of the Zen 3 based Ryzen 5000 desktop and mobile processors. You can read more on that here:
