AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT to launch w/ Two Variants: RX 6700 w/ 6GB GDDR6 Memory

According to a new video by Coreteks, AMD will be launching its budget-grade Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card in two flavors, namely ASIC A and B. The two variants would be based on the same Navi 22 die and the specifications will mostly be identical. The only difference will be with respect to the TGP which in turn will affect the boost clocks (game clocks to be specific) and the overclocking potential of the GPUs.

The A variant will come with a TGP of 230W while the B variant will feature a lower power target of 189W. As you may have concluded, the latter will be used for reference and base models while the former will primarily be utilized for factory-overclocked and/or overengineered models. According to the source, the RX 6700 XT will be up to 25% faster than its predecessor (RX 5700 XT) and (own speculation) come with around 96MB of L3 “Infinity Cache”.

Strangely, the Navi 22 GPUs will be paired with a 192-bit bus, a slimmer interface compared to the 256-bit bus featured on the Navi 10 parts. Furthermore, while the 6700 XT will pack 12GB of GDDR6 memory, the 6700 will be limited to just 6GB of VRAM. We expect the Infinity Cache to make up for this reduction in memory and bus width.

The RX 6700 series is expected to feature the same operating clocks as the RX 6800 series with a boost clock of 2,500MHz to 2,600MHz.
