AMD Radeon RX 5950 XT, 5950 and 5900 Spotted on EEC: Is this the RTX 2080 Ti Killer, Big Navi?

At CES, AMD CES Dr. Lisa Su confirmed that Big Navi will indeed come to the consumer graphics card market in 2020. The first leak that supported this claim was an OpenVR benchmark that saw an unnamed Radeon GPU beat the NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti by around 20-30%. There were no other details on the card, just the FPS score in a high-res VR test. Traditionally, NVIDIA hardware has performed better than AMD in VR. So a GPU that beat the Turing flagship in VR made heads turn. Today, the ECC listing for a Radeon RX 5950 XT, 5950 and 5900 have surfaced. Is this the Big Navi or the 2080 Ti killer everyone’s been waiting for?

The manifest includes a ton of graphics cards from NVIDIA’s Titan RTX to the recently announced Radeon RX 5600 XT. But in the very first line, you can see three unannounced (supposed) high-end AMD GPUs: The Radeon RX 5950 XT, the 5950 and the 5900. The most logical conclusion would be that like the 5700/5700 XT, the 5950/5950 XT will form the top-end Navi lineup while the 5900 will be for OEMs.

If we go by the recently leaked OpenVR benchmark, then the 5950X T or Big Navi will be faster than the RTX 2080 Ti. That would require at least 64 CUs or 4096 shaders based on the new Navi (RDNA) design.

There’s also mention of an RX 5800 XT. My best guess is that this will be an RTX 2080 Super competitor. All the other GeForce Turing RTX and GTX cards already have an AMD Navi rival. This will plug the final holes in the GPU market, and make the high-end GPUs affordable once more.

When it comes to a release window, it will most likely be at Computex 2020 in June. It’s possible that AMD will announce the products at an earlier date and then launch them at around Computex. Regardless, these are early benchmarks and leaks and it’ll be a while before we see Big Navi in action.
