AMD Navi 24 in the Works to Compete with NVIDIA’s MX450: 1,024 Cores, 16MB of L3 Cache, and 4GB VRAM

AMD is looking to replace its budget and low-end GPU lineups with newer RDNA 2-based designs, Just yesterday, we got some concrete details on the RX 6600 and 6600 XT, including the core counts, memory buffer, and core clocks. For the first time in a while, the company is planning to revamp its budget and lower-end offerings too. Over the last several years, this segment has been dominated by the older Polaris GPUs and their derivatives. Their RDNA 2 replacements are slated to arrive later this year and should provide a healthy boost both in terms of performance as well as power efficiency.

Codenamed Beige Goby, the Navi 24 die will feature 4 WCPs/DCUs or 8 Compute Units, resulting in an overall shader count of 1,204 cores. The GPU will consist of 1MB of L2 cache and 16MB of L3 cache. Considering the nature of the lower-end segment, it’ll most likely drop the Infinity Cache and go with a more traditional memory sub-system.

In terms of dedicated graphics memory, you’re looking at 2-4GB of GDDR6 memory paired with a 64-bit bus, resulting in an overall bandwidth of close to 100 GB/s.
