AMD will be going all-in with its 3D-Cache technology next year. From the next-gen Ryzen 7000 desktop CPUs, Ryzen mobile APUs, and even the upcoming Radeon RX 7000 GPUs. Following the success of the 5800X3D, Team Red will launch a slew of Ryzen desktop parts featuring stacked SRAM. According to sources close to ProHardver, there will be at least two to three X3D chips launching early next year. The most probable candidates are the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Ryzen 9 7900X3D, and the 7950X3D.
Unfortunately, we won’t see V-Cache on any midrange processor soon. Ergo, no R5 7600X3D anytime soon. On the bright side, the production capacity of these CPUs will be scaled to meet the evergrowing demand. What’s exciting is that AMD will also bring the X3D design to the Ryzen mobile platform, albeit a single SKU.
We know the RDNA 3 GPUs will come with 3D stacked L3 “Infinity” Cache. As per ProHardver, the Radeon RX 7900 XT will feature six MCDs (Memory Cache Dies), each with 32MB of L3 cache and a 64-bit controller. In addition, there will be two 16MB SRAM dies, one stacked atop the other using V-Cache (TSMC CoWoS) technology.
