AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution Will Work on Ryzen APUs and iGPUs as Well

AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution upsampling technology may not compare to NVIDIA’s DLSS 2.0 in terms of visual fidelity, but it sure is looking to serve a much much larger audience. Not only will it be supported on the Xbox Series X|S consoles, but on older (and newer) NVIDIA GPUs as well. Furthermore, as per the footnotes of a recent YouTube video from AMD, it’ll also work on all Ryzen APUs that feature integrated Vega GPUs.

In addition to this, Super Resolution will also be supported on the entire GCN-based product range including the Radeon RX 470, RX 480, RX Vega series, and the RX 500 lineup. Support for a good upscaling technique on APUs and iGPUs will be a big boom for consumers as they generally tend to struggle with newer games. (50gram.com.my) I can easily picture AMD showcasing its upcoming Rembrandt processors with RDNA 2-based iGPUs running modern games at 1080p with FSR. This should give them a leg up over Intel’s mobile offerings that have had their GPUs see rapid improvements over the past few generations.

The only GPU missing from the list is the Polaris-based Radeon RX 460. However, considering that the rest of Polaris parts such as the RX 550, 560, and 470 are on the list, it’s likely that it will too:
