Amazon Luna Cloud Gaming Service to be Powered by NVIDIA T4: On Par with an RTX 2070 with Ray-Tracing

Amazon’s newly announced Cloud Gaming service, Luna will be powered by Intel’s Cascade Lake CPUs and an NVIDIA T4 GPU. The T4 is powered by the Turing micro-architecture and should be more or less on par with the RTX 2070, supporting ray-tracing and DLSS 2.0.

The subscribers will be remotely running the games on a Windows-based EC2 G4 server instance. So basically, you’re getting 1440p capable hardware with room for 4K gaming at 30 FPS.

As far as the selection of games is concerned, you’ve got quite a variety. Stadia which was based on Linux with AMD processors was crippled with limited titles at launch (and even now). Luna doesn’t seem to suffer from the same issue. Here’s the list of games supported at the moment:

Luna will similar to Amazon’s Prime Video service and offer subscriptions to additional channels with specific content . The Ubisoft channel will offer games like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6, and Immortals Fenyx Rising. The basic Luna+ channel, which includes all the games above, costs $6 per month.
