Acer Announces Laptop Refreshes with the new 10th Gen Intel Core and NVIDIA RTX Super GPUs

Joining the fray of many laptop manufacturers refreshing their lineups with the 10th Gen Intel Core H-Series and NVIDIA RTX Super GPUs, Acer has announced two new refreshed models.

Acer Predator Triton 500

The Acer Predator Triton 500 will be upgraded with the new CPUs as well as GPUs up to the NVIDIA RTX 2080 Super Max-Q to deliver improved performance. On top of that, Acer is adding an optional 300Hz IPS display, more than double of the previous 144Hz, and Wi-Fi 6 using the Killer AX1650i. (Provigil) For icing on the cake, they are also upgrading the keyboard to include per-key RGB backlight instead of the zone keyboard backlighting of the former.

The weight and dimensions are pretty much the same as before, but the cooling systems have been given an update. Acer has tweaked it with its “Vortex Flow design”, offering three fans, 4th generation AeroBlade 3D fans with serrated edges, and five heat pipes, set to be 33% better at thermal performance than the 2019 model.

The new Triton 500 will be up for grabs in May starting at $2,199.99

Acer Nitro 5

Acer will be offering up to a Core-i7-10750H(six cores and twelve threads) boostable to a 5 GHz frequency. On the GPU front, you can choose between the GTX 1650, GTX 1650 Ti and the RTX 2060.

To address the issues of the display in the predecessor, the 2020 model will ship with two new display panels. A higher refresh rate of 120 Hz and 144 Hz, both running at 1080p. A slight boost in the cooling with a new dual-fan design offering around a 25% improvement over the 2019 model is also expected.

The price is a very affordable $749.99 and is up for sale sometime in May.
