10th Gen Intel Comet Lake-H Gaming Laptop Prices Surface

We’ve been talking a lot about Intel’s 10th Gen Comet Lake-H lineup lately. This will be Intel’s fifth consecutive processor family to feature the 14nm Skylake core. Although since the initial 6th Gen launch the core counts have doubled, and the clocks have been ramped up as well, the IPC is unchanged, and the efficiency has gone down the drain. The 9th Gen desktop CPUs draw as much as 200W when under load and run pretty hot. The Core i7-9750H, Intel’s hi-performance mobile flagship suffers from severe throttling and in most cases isn’t able to sustain its boost clocks for long. It is unlikely that the Comet Lake-H parts will break free from these issues, but the increased core counts should help regardless:

That’s quite a steep price hike over the existing Core i7-9750H based laptops. For $250 more, you get two more cores and a notably worse GPU. Not a tempting offer, especially considering that the rival AMD Ryzen 4000 laptops offer more performance for less.

AMD Ryzen 7 4800H Notebook Prices Reportedly Leaked; Launching in April

The AMD Ryzen 7 4800H will be at least 10% faster than the Intel Core i7-10750H

Let’s keep in mind that these prices might not be final and should be taken with a grain of salt. From what we’ve already seen, the actual prices will most likely be higher, not lower than the leaked figures.
